The Calling Comes With Weight
Scripture
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) –
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
Reflection
Calling sounds beautiful—until you realize it carries weight.
Responsibility. Expectation. Resistance.
Responsibility. Expectation. Resistance.
But here’s the truth: God never calls us without also equipping us. The purpose He’s placed in you—especially in your business or leadership—wasn’t meant to feel light. It was meant to feel sacred.
Today, I want you to sit with the idea that God is not surprised by where you are. That business idea? That leadership role? That burden to create, build, serve, or speak? It's not random—it’s assigned.
His plans are intentional. Your purpose is part of it.
Even when you feel tired. Even when you're tempted to quit. The weight isn’t punishment—it’s preparation.
Reflect + Journal
- Do you feel the weight of the calling on your life right now?
- In what ways have you seen God’s hand in your business or leadership journey?
- How are you currently stewarding what God has entrusted to you?
Sacred Step
Set aside time today to journal on this:
“How does my business or leadership reflect God’s plan for me?”
Write it all out—what feels heavy, what feels holy, and what you’re still surrendering.
Prayer
God, thank You for the calling You’ve placed on my life.
Help me to recognize the weight of this assignment and to embrace it with courage and faith.
Teach me to trust Your plans, even when they stretch me.
Guide me to lead with grace, grounded in You. Amen.

What’s written here was never meant to impress—only to anchor.
